Truli, Emmanuela Athens University for Economics and Business
Dr. Emmanuela Truli is attorney at Law admitted to the Athens and New York Bar. She is Lecturer at the Athens University for Economics and Business, where she teaches civil and competition law. In the years 2006-1013 she served the Hellenic Competition Commission on various posts, starting as Legal Expert, then as Head of Division and Deputy Head of Legal Services. In 2010, she was appointed by the Greek Parliament as Member of the Board of the Hellenic Competition Commission (Commissioner-Rapporteur). Both before and during her term as Commissioner of the HCC, she handled numerous cases in major product and services sectors of the Greek economy, including supermarkets, energy (natural gas and oil), construction and banking. Furthermore, she has regularly represented the HCC in various international forums (OECD, ECN working groups on damages actions, abuse of dominance, cartels and sanctions, etc., and advisory committee, UNCTAD, ECA etc.). She holds an LL.M. from Columbia Law School, New York, and a Ph.D. from the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. She has published her doctoral thesis in Germany and academic papers in Greek, German, UK and US books and journals (ECLR, ECJ, American Review of International Arbitration etc.). She has worked in major law firms based in Munich and Athens. Her areas of expertise include civil, competition, energy and telecommunications law. She speaks English, German, French and Spanish.
